Microsoft’s Copilot Now Available on Telegram
Microsoft has introduced its innovative AI tool, Copilot, to Telegram, the popular instant messaging app. Currently in beta, Copilot for Telegram allows users to engage in conversational interactions with the AI-powered chatbot.
Seamless Interaction
With Copilot, you can chat as if you’re having a normal, one-on-one conversation with a friend. It can answer a wide range of questions, from general knowledge queries like “What movie should I watch?” to specific questions such as “What baseball game is on right now?” The bot can be accessed by searching its username, @CopilotOfficialBot.
Accessibility
Copilot for Telegram is free for all Telegram users and is available on both mobile devices and desktop. However, it requires a one-time verification of your phone number. Unfortunately, users from EU countries will not have access to the bot due to data regulations.
Features
Copilot enhances your Telegram experience by offering informative responses on a diverse array of topics:
- Movie recommendations
- Travel planning
- Fitness guidance
- Entertainment updates
- Leisure activities
For example, you can ask Copilot to provide video game cheat codes, recommend movies, suggest new recipes, or even create personalized playlists.
Security and Privacy
Microsoft emphasizes that Copilot for Telegram is designed with security in mind. The bot relies on Microsoft’s comprehensive approach to privacy and responsible AI, ensuring that user data is protected.
Expanding AI Integration
Microsoft has already introduced Copilot into several of its products, including Microsoft 365 and Teams. The expansion to third-party services like Telegram indicates Microsoft’s intention to integrate its AI chatbot into other social apps.
Competitors
Other companies are also integrating AI chatbots into their messaging platforms. For instance, Meta is testing Meta AI across Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp. Google’s Gemini rivals Copilot by leveraging generative AI within Google Messages on Android devices. Meanwhile, Snapchat uses ChatGPT to power its AI chatbot that responds to Snaps.
