How CGPH and Altherum Are Expanding Access to Private Markets

In this article, you’ll discover:

  • How a proprietary AI system helps screen and prioritise market opportunities.
  • Why deal-specific club deals are attracting growing interest from private-market investors.
  • The vital role of human judgment in investment selection.
  • How secure blockchain tech enables fractional asset ownership.
  • The future of private equity and long-term trust building.

Finding good private investments used to be something only closed professional networks could do. Now, things are changing for the better. As a premier Banque d’Affaires and cross-border advisory platform, CGPH operates comprehensively across private markets, M&A, private capital, and related areas. To give investors easier access to these exclusive off-market opportunities, their team created the Altherum platform.

While CGPH is fundamentally built on deep financial advisory expertise, technology plays a key differentiating role in enhancing their execution capabilities. Kolyo Boichev, Managing Director of CGPH, explained their approach perfectly:

“Investing in AI means offering our partners not more deals, but a better selection: technology expands the analysis, while human experience preserves judgment.”

Understanding the Power of Club Deals

Altherum was built because investors wanted direct access to private deals instead of standard financial product catalogs. A big part of this involves club deals. A club deal is built around a single specific project, like a growing company, a real estate project, or a new renewable energy initiative.

Qualified investors commit capital alongside one another to a specific transaction, generally through a dedicated investment structure. Depending on the deal, individual commitments may start at €50,000 or €100,000. CGPH performs the financial analysis and contributes to the structuring of the transaction, reviewing factors such as financial performance, debt position, business plan, management, governance and potential exit routes.

Investing in Physical Assets with Blockchain

The platform is also designed to hold rare physical items, like works of art, precious stones, and collectible watches. Before an asset is admitted to the platform, it is assessed in terms of authenticity, provenance, valuation, insurance, custody and potential resale market.

To make investing in these items easier, the platform uses a digital system called blockchain. This allows for a lower entry point of just 1,000 euros. Blockchain provides a verifiable digital record of ownership interests and transactions. It does not replace legal documentation, custody arrangements or human review, but can improve traceability and simplify the administration of fractional participations.

Using AI to Enhance Advisory Capabilities

Every week, CGPH gets a lot of proposals from companies looking for funding. To support their hands-on advisory work and quickly find the ones with the strongest fundamentals, they built a proprietary artificial intelligence system.

This data-driven screening system compares opportunities against a network of more than 4,000 funds and investors. It checks things like the type of business, location, and the amount of money needed. By doing this, the system helps identify potentially relevant investor matches based on factors such as sector, geography, ticket size and investment strategy. However, human review remains the most important step. Analysts always check the facts, validate the legal profiles, and make the final decisions.

What Comes Next for Investors

The main goal moving forward is to turn all of these great ideas into a steady flow of completed deals. The team wants to take each opportunity through a full process of careful planning and reporting, rather than just throwing a list of transactions onto a screen. Altherum is also preparing to extend its infrastructure to selected financial products issued or originated by third parties. The initial focus will include bonds and private-placement debt instruments, with a subsequent expansion to other products, including ETFs, where the relevant legal, regulatory and distribution framework permits tokenised representation.

The objective is not to transform traditional financial instruments into speculative crypto products, but to use digital infrastructure to facilitate access, subscription and administration while preserving the underlying economic and legal characteristics of each instrument.

By mixing data-driven technology with real human experience, CGPH and Altherum are helping build long-term relationships with investors and making private markets much easier to navigate.
