NoTraffic Gets $90M to Make City Streets Smarter

In this article, you’ll discover:

  • How a massive $90 million fund will upgrade city intersections.
  • Why smart traffic software is replacing old red lights.
  • How cities across North America are reducing long commutes.

Have you ever sat at a red light with no other cars around? It is frustrating. A company called NoTraffic wants to fix that. They just raised $90 million to bring smart traffic lights to cities across North America.

Why do we need this? Tal Kreisler, the CEO of NoTraffic, explains the issue clearly. “Traffic systems were designed decades ago for a different era,” he said. Kreisler believes that upgrading old traffic lights will bring huge value to cities. “Our platform allows agencies to operate intersections dynamically, respond instantly to changing conditions, and continuously improve outcomes using AI.”

The leaders investing in this project agree. Ronen Nir from PSG Equity shared his thoughts on the shift. “Cities need software-driven systems that can adapt continuously, not once every few years,” Nir said. He pointed out that NoTraffic already operates on a very large scale.

City leaders are already seeing the benefits. Mayor Kate Gallego of Phoenix noted how this helps her fast-growing city. “By deploying NoTraffic’s AI-driven platform, we’ve delivered measurable improvements, improving signal timing, shortening commute delays, and cutting pedestrian wait times,” she said.

What Does NoTraffic Do?

NoTraffic turns regular intersections into smart systems. Instead of using a set timer, the traffic lights run on smart software. This helps cities manage crowded streets and keep people safe. Traffic workers often have a lot to do, and this technology acts like an extra set of hands.

Growing Fast in North America

This new funding round was led by PSG Equity. It will help NoTraffic grow faster. Right now, they work in over 40 states and parts of Canada. By the middle of 2026, they expect to work with one in ten traffic agencies in the US and Canada. They are already helping places like Houston, Oklahoma, and Phoenix.

24/7 Traffic Support

The company also runs a special center that watches the streets all day and night. They can fix problems from afar and update the system over the air. This means cities avoid expensive construction projects. With this smart approach, sitting at a pointless red light might soon be a thing of the past.
