How Myota Stopped Hackers from Stealing Data

In this article, you’ll discover:

  • How Myota safely blocked nearly 10,000 breach attempts.
  • Why breaking files apart stops data theft completely.
  • How to restore your system with instant rewind tools.
  • The secret to cutting your company storage costs in half.

Keeping business files safe is hard. Cyber attacks happen every day. But a company called Myota is proving they can stop bad actors completely. They set up a huge test called the ShardWars Challenge. Nearly 10,000 hackers tried to steal a protected Bitcoin key. Not a single person won.

Gabriel Gumbs, the President and Chief Hacking Officer of Myota, explains why their system works so well. “Most systems fail somewhere, keys get exposed, backups get hit, or there’s a weak link you can chain together. Here, even if you can get through the perimeter, and put hands on fragments, they’re useless on their own. There’s no pivot point.”

Jim Walker, the CEO of Myota, adds to this idea. “Myota represents a fundamental shift, from recovery to immunity. When data is protected at write time and cannot be reconstructed by unauthorized parties, ransomware and data exfiltration become non-events.”

Breaking Files Apart

Instead of just building a wall around your files, Myota uses a smart tool called Shard and Spread. When you save a file, the system breaks it into tiny pieces. Then, it hides those pieces in different storage spots. If a hacker gets past the main wall, they only find useless bits of data. They can not put the data puzzle back together.

Instant Data Recovery

With this smart setup, your files have built in ransomware immunity. If an attack happens, you do not have to panic. Organizations can rewind their systems to any past moment. Your files come back instantly without needing clunky backup systems. It saves time and removes a lot of stress.

Lower Storage Costs

Protecting data usually costs a lot of money. Because Myota removes the need for extra backup copies, it actually saves money. In fact, companies can lower their storage bills by 50 percent. This means better security and lower costs for your business. Myota is creating a future where data stays secure, easy to access, and cheap to store.
