ApplaiNow Connects You with College Students for Advice
In this article, you’ll discover:
- How a new platform is changing college advice.
- Why talking to real students beats online forums.
- How you can browse free profiles of successful applicants.
- What it’s like to get 1:1 advice in just 15 minutes.
Let’s be honest: applying to college can be so stressful. Trying to figure out what schools really want is confusing. Counselors are often too busy, private consultants cost a lot of money, and online forums are full of conflicting advice.
A new platform called ApplaiNow (pronounced “Apply Now”) just launched to fix this. It connects families directly with successful college students for 1:1 advice.
What is ApplaiNow?

ApplaiNow is a new site where high school students and parents can find and talk to verified students at top universities.

Instead of guessing, you can book live video calls with students who were just admitted to schools like MIT and others. You get to hear their stories and learn what it actually takes to get in.
“We’re democratizing college admissions advice, making personalized guidance available to every family,” said Rick Wee, the Founder and CEO of ApplaiNow.
Real Answers from Real Students
The biggest question is often, “What did they do to get in?”
ApplaiNow helps answer this in two ways. First, you can browse advisor profiles for free. These profiles are modeled after their real college applications, showing details like GPAs, extracurriculars, and test scores.
Second, you can book video calls to ask specific questions. This is where you get the personal stories and practical tips that numbers alone can’t give you.
“Getting 1:1 mentorship on college admissions has long been a privilege for a fortunate few,” said Rick Wee. “We’re democratizing that access so anyone can get direct advice from peers who’ve been through it.”
How It Works
The process is designed to be simple. Families can look through all the advisor profiles to find the right fit. When they are ready, they can book a call.
The platform has scheduling and video chat built right in. You can even book a short 15-minute session if you just have a few quick questions. This makes it easy to fit into a busy student’s schedule without any long-term commitments.
Helping Both Sides

The platform isn’t just great for applicants; it’s also a benefit for the college advisors. They get to pay it forward by mentoring future students. They can also earn money and set their own flexible schedules around their college classes.
“I love helping future applicants and sharing my experience,” said Ethan Chan, an ApplaiNow advisor and MIT freshman. “It’s rewarding to know that with ApplaiNow, I can share my story and inspire someone else’s journey in an easy-to-use, accessible way.”
ApplaiNow’s goal is to make the whole college application process clearer and less scary.
“We’re not just launching a service, we’re building a community of mentorship and storytelling,” said Christian Wee, Director of Business Development & Marketing. “Our goal is to make trusted admissions advice accessible to every student, everywhere.”
