New Lab Tech Lets You Test Chemicals Anywhere

In this article, you’ll discover:

  • How a new testing tool lets scientists check chemicals anywhere.
  • Why the compact system saves companies money and space.
  • The way this portable lab speeds up important choices.
  • How using less liquid creates a cleaner workspace for everyone.

Have you ever wondered why chemical testing takes so long? Usually, scientists have to send their samples to a big central lab. But now, two companies are making it easy to test things right where you are. Axcend and MassTech have teamed up to create a powerful new tool. It combines the Axcend Focus LC with the MassTech MTE30 to make a portable testing system.

This means scientists can do highly sensitive chemical analysis on the spot.

Company leaders are very excited about this new setup. Greg Ward is the CEO of Axcend, and he shared his thoughts on the release.

“The ability to bring LC MS capability directly to the point of need represents a meaningful shift in how organizations approach analytical workflows,” said Ward. “This combined solution supports trace level detection in environments where traditional LC MS systems may not be practical due to space or infrastructure constraints.”

Venkat Panchagnula, the CEO of MassTech, also added his thoughts.

“We are pleased to see the MTE30 integrated with the Focus LC,” said Panchagnula. “Together, these technologies expand access to trace level analysis beyond centralized laboratory settings.”

A Big Step for Science

Testing chemicals used to require massive machines. These older machines took up a lot of room. They also needed a lot of power and special liquids to run. The new Axcend Focus LC changes that. It is a very compact system that does the exact same job but uses far fewer liquids and tiny sample sizes.

When you pair it with the MassTech MTE30, it gets even better. The MTE30 is built to find tiny traces of chemicals in very tight spaces. Together, they create a portable lab that can go to manufacturing floors or field locations.

Saving Space and Time

Why does this matter? For one, it saves a lot of valuable time. Instead of packing up samples and waiting days for answers from a distant lab, workers get results right away. This fast testing helps them make quick decisions on the job.

It is also much safer. Because the system uses fewer harsh liquids, it creates less hazardous waste. This is great news for any company trying to lower its costs and run a cleaner workspace.

See It In Action

This new gear is ready for the real world. In fact, both companies recently showed off the combined system at major industry events. They brought the setup to IFPAC in Maryland and the Pittcon show in Texas earlier this year.

It is clear that portable tools are the future of science. By bringing the lab directly to the sample, Axcend and MassTech are helping researchers work smarter.
