Meet the Clicks Communicator: A New Phone with a Real Keyboard

In this article, you’ll discover:

  • Why the Clicks Communicator is the perfect second phone for your busy workday.
  • How a real keyboard can speed up your daily emails and texts.
  • The simple Android 16 software that helps you focus and get things done.
  • Cool old features making a comeback, like the headphone jack and a physical SIM tray.
  • Where to preorder it and why it might be exactly what you need.

If you are anything like me, you probably spend a lot of time typing emails on your glass phone screen. Sometimes, my thumbs just miss the letters. It can be super annoying when you are trying to work fast. But what if we could go back to the days of clicking real buttons? Well, we finally can. The new Clicks Communicator is a fresh smartphone that brings back the physical keyboard.

This device is meant to be a great second phone for entrepreneurs and tech fans who want fewer distractions. The team behind it wants to help you focus. “Communicator is to a smartphone what a Kindle is to an iPad,” said Jeff Gadway, chief marketing officer at Clicks. “It’s a complementary product that stands on its own, optimized for a specific purpose. In the case of Clicks Communicator, that means communicating with confidence in a noisy world.”

He also shared their main goal. “We’re really trying to help have people see us as a company that’s building purpose-built tech for people who want to do shit and not doom scroll,” Gadway said.

A Familiar Feel

Meet the ultimate communication companion

If this phone reminds you of an old BlackBerry, that is no accident. A former BlackBerry designer helped create it. The phone feels solid in your hand and weighs just 170 grams. It is perfect for investors who travel a lot. It has a beautiful 4-inch screen and a highly tactile keyboard. The keys are actually 43 percent larger than the ones on the older Clicks keyboard cases.

Beyond the keyboard, it brings back features we all miss. You will find a headphone jack, a physical SIM tray, and a slot for a microSD card. It even has a fun Signal light. This light glows in different colors when you get messages from your favorite people.

Smart and Simple Software

This device runs on Android 16. It also uses a clean setup called the Niagara app launcher. Instead of a messy home screen, your messages from apps like Slack and WhatsApp are right up front. This makes it super easy to read and reply quickly.

There is also a special button on the right side called the Prompt Key. You just press and hold it to record your voice. It turns your words into text instantly. Clicks co-founder Michael Fisher noted that the name Communicator comes partly from the famous Star Trek device. It shows that this phone is built for the best typing and voice recording experience possible.

Strong Specs Inside

Even though it looks simple, the inside is very modern. It has a powerful 4,000 mAh battery to keep you going all day. The back of the phone has a removable plate, just like older phones. You can swap it out for different colors or materials like leather.

For photos, it packs a 50-megapixel rear camera and a 24-megapixel front camera. It also supports fast 5G speeds, Wi-Fi 6, and wireless charging. You get five years of security updates, making it a safe choice for your daily work.

The Clicks Communicator will launch later this year for $499. But if you want to save some money, you can preorder it right now for $399 or reserve one for just $199. It is a fantastic tool to boost your digital well-being and get real work done.
